I am 22 old years old and hail from the not- so- small- dorpie of Klerksdorp:). I studied journalism and media studies as well as political science for three years at Rhodes University. During this time I completed all my internships at Channel Islam International and currently completing my studies and freelancing for cii. I compile and read news on cii in addition to extensive reporting on special events such as the Hajj. I also co-host a range of Islamically orientated programmes with Muallima Shamiela.

 I take an active interest in media as well as current affairs and how Muslims are portrayed in the mainstream corporate controlled media organisations. The sinister agendas and bias so blatantly exhibited in the media today is overwhelming. However I believe that this can be tackled by encouraging young people to study journalism and support Islamic media organisations such as this one. And of course we need the support of the Muslim Ummah.
